Significances of Study
With the every changing way in which we consume services and goods, now maybe the time to examine their present condition and project how they will service us in the future. Shopping centers and Malls have been around in their present form since the 1950’s. They are a ubiquitous part of our suburban landscape. They sit on primary locations throughout our communities and are often the center of our towns. You may not realize it, but there success anchors the homes, schools, and community centers in our towns. Their well being is an important element to the way we live our lives. How we will patronize these locations and consume products as we move forward is anyone’s guess.
But we do know that some will survive, some won’t, but most will need to be modified, reinvented and converted into other uses, or just close down.There is evidence that this change has already begun.
The information presented here is by no means an answer to all the questions. It is at best, a small glimpse at what we now have. Hopefully, more will join the conversation in an effort to plan our future better.
